Homestudies and Post Placements

Ametz Adoption Program is a New York and New Jersey-licensed adoption agency conducting domestic and international homestudies since 1984. JCCA homestudies are accepted by agencies, courts, attorneys and in all 50 states and countries all over the world. The homestudy report also meets local immigration office requirements. Through these interviews and a home visit, the social worker gathers information to write a narrative report about the prospective parent(s), their home and type of child they hope to adopt. We do not expect you to have all the answers. The homestudy is a dialogue about prospective adoptive parents' experiences and their hopes and plans for adoption.

JCCA recommends pursuing an agency homestudy, both to facilitate processing of child abuse and criminal clearances and because many adoption resources will not accept a homestudy conducted by an independent practitioner.  All international homestudies must be conducted under the auspices of a licensed agency.
